It's half the price. In fact, a new set of rims for the Tesla Model 3 costs half the price of the entire car in Denmark. But then they're also made of carbon fiber.
Unplugged Performance is one of many tuners. But now they're coming up with something that, at least in terms of price, makes them harder to forget. Tesla Model 3 rims for 150,000 kroner.
Or half of what the entire base model with rear-wheel drive costs in Denmark. On the other hand, the rims are cast in carbon fiber.
In fact, 'Project Highland', as the tuner calls it, is a whole package of upgrades for the Tesla. On the aerodynamic side, there's a new diffuser, side skirts and a lower lip for the front bumper to get. That package runs up to 52,000 Danish kroner.
Conversely, the American tuner claims that it increases the car's downforce by 193 kilos. There are carbon fiber brake discs and an adjustable suspension to get after it. If you haven't already bought yourself poor.
Modified Teslas are not a rare sight. Quite the opposite. In fact, some go much further than Unplugged Performance. For example, David Andreyev got so tired of waiting for a new Tesla Roadster that he decided to build his own.
However, he is already moving forward with plans for a new project, where a Tesla Model S Plaid will undergo a similar transformation. In other words, it will require over 1,000 horsepower.
