New figures: They are still the world's biggest car brand

There is not much to discuss. Toyota put the competition to the wall and can still call itself the world's biggest car brand.

No one above, no one next to. Such is the case for Toyota, which these days can once again boast of being the world's largest car brand.

Reuters writes that.

In 2023, the Japanese thus sold 11.2 million new cars to motorists around the world. At home, however, the Japanese are far from number one.

Tesla actually has such a strong hold on that place that last year the American brand smashed Opel's record, which no other car brand has been able to beat for 37 years. Read more about it here .

Last year, 'only' 12,014 new Toyotas were given Danish number plates. A decrease of 1.7 percent of the Danish car market, or the same as 821 cars.

The 11.2 million cars are not just Toyotas either. In the calculation, models from subsidiaries such as Lexus and the scandal-ridden Daihatsu are taken into account.

However, Toyota and Lexus alone sold a combined 10.3 million cars last year. Very much on the subject of sales numbers, Toyota actually denies a wild story. Read more about it here .
