The Bugatti Tourbillon is brand new with its 8.3-liter V16 engine, which itself produces 1,000 horsepower. The last 800 comes from 3 electric motors.
The Bugatti Tourbillon is the latest hypercar monster this world has yet seen. And in many ways also the wildest.
On Thursday evening Danish time this week, Bugatti's chief director Mate Rimac revealed all the glory at an event that was broadcast live on YouTube.
The Tourbillon name is a tribute to the part in watches that makes everything go ultra-precisely. The car, says Bugatti, is brand new. Not a single part has been brought over from the Chiron, which in turn was a further development of the Veyron.
The huge W16 engine is not included either. Not even if Bugatti actually considered it. Instead, the factory in Molsheim has created a completely new 8.3-liter V16 engine without a turbo. It produces 1,000 horsepower in itself.

However, the Tourbillon has more to offer. For an electric motor in the gearbox as well as two in the front delivers an additional 800 horsepower for a total system performance of… yes, 1,800 horsepower. And there is even more.
Because although the new V16 engine is significantly longer, a good 40 centimeters, than the old W16, the car weighs no more than the Chiron. And it's good for many things – but especially performance.
0 to 100 km/h is over in 2 seconds. 0 to 200 km/h takes 5 seconds and 0 to 300 km/h is over in less than 10 seconds. In 25 seconds, the Tourbillon has passed 400 km/h. And it is an electronic limitation that prevents it from pulling past 445 km/h.
However, Bugatti is certainly not averse to the fact that the Tourbillon will eventually set some of the crazy speed records we are now used to when the brand tries to take the throne from Koenigsegg. And the Swedes, conversely, strike again.
Unlike both the Chiron and the Veyron, the Tourbillon will only be made in 250 copies. Bugatti has already said that the price starts at 3.7 million euros. This corresponds to 28 million Danish kroner. The first cars will be delivered in late 2026.
Incidentally, the last Bugatti Chiron is a masterpiece in itself. However, it is not quite over with the W16 engine. The last open versions, the Mistral, and the crazy track racer Bolide are still to be built. Read more about it here .
