Motorist ran away from accident – revealed by lost license plate

On Thursday this week, two cars collided in an accident on a road in Svendborg on Funen. One ran away but forgot the license plate in the run.

It was a narrow matter for Funen Police to find both parties in a traffic accident on Johs Jorgensens Vej in Svendborg this week.

One party was probably on the scene because the person's car had spun 180 degrees around. The other party, on the other hand, had run away in the van which had spun the first car around.

Unfortunately for the owner of the van, the car had not recovered from the traffic accident as the number plate was missing. It was lost on the road.

The accident happened because the van stopped at the central ramp to cross the road from north to south. However, the person behind the wheel does not get his bearings properly, ignores the right of way and smashes into another car.

The police were soon after able to pick up the license plate and, in any case, find the owner that way. Whether this is identical to the driver who ignored the right of way is unclear.

Drivers running away from traffic accidents are unfortunately nothing new. On Facebook, descriptions of accidents are shared daily – especially in so-called dashcam groups – in which at least one party, usually the guilty party, has run away.

Other times, it's family members – even the closest of the kind – who report each other because it's just too fast to get away in traffic. At least that's how a mother dragged her presumably very embarrassed son to the police station. Read more about it here .
