It still lacks four cylinders, but Manhart is still trying to save some of the glory with the new C63 AMG, which is a hybrid for the first time.
It literally sounds sad in the new Mercedes C63 AMG. It has not just lost four cylinders; the sound is also almost gone.
In fact, the car sounds more like a charred vacuum cleaner than anything else. At least from the factory. However, the German tuner Manhart is trying hard to save some of Mercedes' glory.
The CRE 700 is a beast with a whopping 725 horsepower and a staggering 1,120 Newton meters from the same engine that Mercedes first put in the AMG model of the current A-Class.
However, there is a small catch to it all. To get the full effect of the Manhart conversion, a 300-cell racing catalytic converter and a new exhaust system with custom downpipes must be used.

This type is not TÃœV-approved. Therefore, it must not be mounted on cars for street use in Germany, Denmark or any other EU country.
The good news, however, is that Manhart has not completely given up the fight. However, the production of TÃœV-approved alternative parts requires 'sufficient demand'.
Unfortunately, the German tuner does not state what 'sufficient demand' covers in the press material about the car.
The price has not been published, but don't count on having either the car or the upgrades thrown at you. At home, the new C63 costs from DKK 1.9 million as a hybrid model.
It is not much cheaper in markets outside Denmark. Not even if the drivers in these countries get off much cheaper in tax. The car is actually not popular either.
