A Mercedes owner has taken a serious hit in the economy after the High Court has concluded that he defrauded the state treasury by driving around in a Mercedes on yellow plates.

Among other things because the police stopped him and a friend when they came running across the Danish-German border.
During the trial, the Tax Agency has pointed out that the trip for the two men – of which only the owner has anything to do with a business – is tantamount to a private carousel.
Therefore, the car must now be re-registered within three weeks, so that it is fitted with parrot plates and private use tax must be paid. Something the Mercedes owner had otherwise avoided by driving on completely 'clean' yellow plates.
The Mercedes owner can also count on his VAT deduction for expenses for that particular car's operating expenses to be reduced in the future.
