Media: This is how much Lewis Hamilton earns at Ferrari

It is far from a pittance that Lewis Hamilton gets to slip from the London suburb of Brackley and Mercedes to Ferrari in Maranello.

He is already making good money. But there is even more to come for Lewis Hamilton. Although not in world championships, then at least on the bottom of the coffin.

Because after it emerged last week that the seven-time world champion has freed himself from his own contract with Mercedes' Formula 1 team in order to sign a contract with Ferrari, there has been a bit of digging into the economic conditions.

The English star-choir will probably only change after this season, but he has plenty to look forward to. Not only does he have to drive for what is probably the most famous car brand to date, Hamilton also gets an astronomical salary for it.

This is written by the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet .

The media writes that Mercedes is currently paying Lewis Hamilton around 35 million dollars a year. This corresponds to approximately a quarter of a billion Danish kroner per year.

However, the seven-time world champion can look forward to having it increased considerably in Maranello. The Swedish newspaper quotes Formula 1 journalist Giuliano Duchessa, who believes that Ferrari will pay Hamilton as much as DKK 691 million.

That is, every single year. Money, however, is not Hamilton's basic salary, but must instead be seen as the total amount he can collect from both Ferrari and the team's sponsors with his contract in Italy.

How long the contract between Hamilton and Ferrari is is not known. The public has only been told that 'the contract extends over several years'.

However, when Hamilton scores his first lob for Ferrari, he will be 40 years old. In comparison, Aston Martin's Fernando Alonso, who is the oldest in the field and who also has cards for the Italians, is 42 years old.
