Mazda torn in the middle – 18-year-old could walk away from accident

An 18-year-old man walked away from an accident that otherwise tore his Mazda6 in half. The other party – a 45-year-old man – was subsequently briefly hospitalized.

A 2004 Mazda 6 was torn over in the middle of an accident in Baulkam Hills, Australia. The car was involved in a high speed collision where the rear end of the car was ripped off and sent into a nearby house.

Amazingly, the 18-year-old driver of the Mazda escaped the accident unscathed. He could leave the place, writes local media.

The accident also involved another car speeding by a 45-year-old person, who was briefly hospitalized for observation. However, the driver also escaped the accident without serious injuries.

After the accident, the young Mazda owner was arrested. A blood test showed he had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit in Australia.

Australians' alcohol policy behind the wheel is similar to that here in Denmark. Namely a limit of 0.5. Therefore, the choir card was withdrawn, and he is now charged with driving under the influence.

– The police are now investigating the incident further, writes Carscoops.

The penalty for drunk driving in Australia can be a fine of up to 10.00 Danish kroner and up to nine months in prison. In addition, you lose your registration card for a year, and if you subsequently want to register your car again, it is with a permanent alcohol lock.

Police in Sydney are taking the opportunity to warn against the dangers of drink-driving and speeding. They emphasize that these are the most frequent causes of traffic accidents and deaths.

The airbags in the Mazda deployed during the collision, which probably helped save the driver's life. The front of the car remained relatively intact after the accident.
