Max Verstappen's very rare Porsche is looking for a new owner

He has won everything in Formula 1 three times – and is on course for a fourth world championship – now Max Verstappen's track Porsche is looking for a new owner.

These are the kinds of cars that usually heat up the tarmac for him. But few people probably know that Max Verstappen is also a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup owner.

Or at least he has been. He bought the car here together with his father, Jos Verstappen, brand new from Porsche in 2019.

The car was then sold to a racing team in Belgium, who took care of it until it was imported to the United States in 2023. Here, the car only has one season with the IGT series, because it is again time to find a new owner.

Should there be a Dane – or two – sitting out there with their mouths watering already, we have only one thing to say: buy !

Conversely, a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup is not type-approved for civilian use. In other words, a roundabout on a public road. So the car is exclusively for track use. On the other hand, the 3.9-liter boxer engine has six cylinders as usual. The Cup version has a whopping 485 horsepower.

There is obviously not much of an interior. Other than what is absolutely necessary for safety reasons. So there is plenty of opportunity to hear the engine screaming all the way through the total of 8,500 revolutions.

But that's the thing about the price. At Isringhausen Import in Springfield, Illinois, where the car is for sale, they expect to get $159,000 for it. So it will cost you 1 million Danish kroner plus the hassle of becoming as competitive as Verstappen.

It is not the first time that a car belonging to a Formula 1 world champion has surfaced with a for sale sign in the windscreen. The same thing happened in 2019 with Kimi Raikkonen's former Audi RS 6.
