Kevin Magnussen did not only positively notice himself among Danish Formula 1 fans after Sunday's lob in Mexico. Auto Motor und Sport believes the Dane has shortlisted for a Sauber seat in 2025.
Kevin Magnussen has made headlines in both Danish and foreign media after a strong performance in the recent Formula 1 weekend in Mexico.
The Dane's efforts were positively noted by several motorsport commentators, and several media outlets pay tribute to K-Mag's car. Among them is the German Auto Motor und Sport , which gave Magnussen a rare top grade of 10 out of 10.
One of the reasons for the high rating was Magnussen's ability to stay close to some of the biggest names in the field.
– In this form, the Dane should stay in Formula 1, writes Auto Motor und Sport.
The media elaborates on the tribute to the 32-year-old Dane.

– With seventh place on the grid, he was less than two tenths behind Lewis Hamilton. He was also in seventh place most of the time. In the final laps, Magnussen even caught up with Verstappen and crossed the finish line only four seconds after the Dutchman.
According to the media, performance is enough to make K-Mag a more than serious candidate for the only – at least on paper – vacant seat in Formula 1. Namely the one at Sauber, which in 2026 will become Audi's factory team.
Auto Motor und Sport also notes that the Dane is currently doing better than the current Sauber driver, competitor Valtteri Bottas.
The British media The Race has also given Magnussen several praises on the way to the next Formula 1 race. It's in Brazil.
The Race calls Magnussen's second best choirs. According to the media, the Dane was only surpassed by the winner of the race, Ferrari's Carlos Sainz.
The Race writes about K-Mag:
– Magnussen could not have done better in either the qualification or the race. He stayed just out of reach of Oscar Piastri's McLaren in the closing stages.
Magnussen's performance in Mexico earned him six points, moving him up to 13th overall in the choir championship. While Haas is sixth in the overall constructors' championship after the race in Mexico. With four rounds left in the season, the question of Magnussen's future is still open. He himself has said that 'he has no plans for next year'. Read more about it here .
