Mad driver bought confiscated car back at the weekend

The auction was the auction house's first time with confiscated cars on behalf of the state. The interest was also enormous.

It drew people to such an extent that the auction house Tingkærs Auktioner sold cars confiscated by crazy drivers on behalf of the state on Thursday.

Prices in Odense also started at just DKK 25. Up to 800 people turned up to bid on the 19 cars that were going under the hammer.

– We have never experienced anything like this, says Stina Tingkær, co-owner of Tingkær Auktioner, to TV 2 Fyn.

One of the guests had made the journey to Odense for one particular reason. Namely to get 'his' confiscated car back. Avisen Danmark wrote that after the auction.

It was a 22-year-old electrician who used all his savings to buy back his Volkswagen Passat GTE.

According to Stina Tingkær, not all interested parties had the opportunity to bid on the cars during the Lord's Day auction. There were 800 numbers to distribute, and they were all taken into use, it says.

It is not the first time that a crazy driver buys his car back at the subsequent 'forced auction'. It also happened in Haderslev two years ago.

Here the man subsequently stood up in the hall and explained why he had bid the highest for the black Audi A6, which he ended up getting some for. Read more about it here .
