Lewis Hamilton wants new Ferrari F40 with manual transmission

When Hamilton was a Mercedes driver, he wanted a special edition of the AMG One road car. Now he has suggested a new F40 to Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton hopes to secure an 8th world championship with Ferrari, and for the 'trouble' he would like a new F40.

This is reported by Motorsport.com .

In any case, the media outlet quotes Hamilton as saying that he would like to help Ferrari develop a new F40-inspired model. As long as it gets a manual transmission.

Hamilton floated a similar idea about Mercedes' hypercar AMG One, which is known to be a Formula 1 car with a license plate.

But since then in 2019 there has been no news about a special edition of the AMG One, and now Hamilton is gone from Mercedes.

– One of the things I really want to do is design a Ferrari. I want to make an F44. The starting point should be the F40 with a manual transmission.

"That's what I want to work on for the next few years," says Hamilton.

In that case, the work must be on the sidelines. Because the Formula 1 calendar is full. Even in the years that Hamilton and Ferrari have papers on each other. Officially, however, the parties will only say that it is a 'multi-year agreement'.

Hamilton is also getting paid handsomely for his move to Maranello. Not only will he be living in Enzo Ferrari's private home, but the fast Briton is reportedly getting close to 700 million kroner a year in pure salary. Read more about it here .

Previously, the seven-time World Championship winner has said that he 'never' drives cars. That is, other than those he is contractually obligated to in Formula 1.

Hamilton, for example, has said that the Pagani Zonda he had custom-built is also the worst car he has ever owned. That is, apart from the fact that the car's V12 engine also had (and still has, ed.) the best soundtrack he has ever heard from a road car.
