A new trademark registration reveals that Lamborghini is not in quite as much of a hurry to get rid of the V10 engine as one might think.
The Lamborghini Huracan is by now an old journeyman. But at the factory in Sant'Agata, they are not quite finished with the model that replaced the Gallardo in 2014.
It reveals a new trademark registration that CarBuzz has unearthed. From the registration, it appears that Lamborghini has a Huracan STJ in mind.
And if the talk is anything to go by, the car will be part of the very last Huracan models. In May last year, Lamborghini said that the Huracan is 'sold out' and that production will cease in the course of 2024.
What is hidden under the name is not so difficult to come up with an educated guess. The STJ logo that Lamborghini sent with the trademark registration is very similar to another logo that we have seen before.
Lamborghini's Danish boss fired: "It came as a shock"
Back in 2018, the Italians equipped their then top model Aventador with the nickname SVJ – Super Veloce J ota. The most track-oriented version of the V12 model.
So we probably don't miss the mark by guessing a car that is possibly so track-oriented that it must not be used on the road at all. But this is all speculation. We only have the name STJ to deal with.
