Although Lamborghini recently had to admit that the market is not ripe for a pure electric car, the brand is still dropping all cars without an electric motor.
An era is over. Lamborghini has produced the brand's last car without an electric motor. Only cars with hybrid assistance and the upcoming, pure electric cars remain.
This means that the Urus petrol-only SUV, including the Urus S and Performante, will no longer be produced. Lamborghini confirmed the change in a press release about sales figures for 2024.
Customers looking for a Lamborghini Urus are now being directed to the plug-in hybrid Urus SE. This model combines a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined 800 horsepower.
The Urus SE thus surpasses the previous top model Performante in terms of horsepower. Although the Performante was slightly faster from 0 to 100 km/h due to its lower weight, the Urus SE has a higher top speed of 312 km/h.
Lamborghini's new supercars, the Temerario and Revuelto, have only been available as plug-in hybrids from the very beginning.
The Revuelto combines a V12 engine with three electric motors and produces 1015 horsepower. The Temerario has a V8 engine and the same number of electric motors as the Revuelto, with a total output of 920 horsepower.
Lamborghini has no plans to launch a fully electric supercar yet, as demand is deemed too low. The manufacturer has postponed its first electric car until 2029.
"The demand is not big enough," a Lamborghini spokesperson said last year about the fully electric supercars.
Lamborghini Copenhagen, which is responsible for importing the brand's cars into Denmark, on the other hand, will not answer Boosted whether any of the brand's new models will even come to Denmark. Read more about it here .
