Kevin Magnussen makes a disappointing announcement

In just a few weeks, Kevin Magnussen will be a thing of the past at Haas. Probably also in Formula 1 and maybe in motorsport forever. He reveals that to DR.

Kevin Magnussen now opens up that the future may lie outside of motorsport. The Danish racing driver, who will soon end his time in Formula 1 at Haas, is considering other options after his career behind the wheel.

In an interview with DR Sporten , Magnussen says that although the interest in racing will always be a part of him, he is considering finding a new direction in life.

– But when it's over with Formula 1, I have to find a new journey – a new adventure. Something new I can be passionate about.

– After all, I have been used to living with that big, bright goal of becoming world champion in Formula 1, and it will be difficult to find something that turns me on in the same way. Maybe it's something outside of racing, he says to DR.

Magnussen's place on the Haas team will be taken over next season by the young Oliver Bearman and Esteban Ocon. At the same time, the possibilities of finding available places in both Formula 1 and the other series at the top of motorsport are severely limited.

Thus, Magnussen is in a situation where his career as a racing choir could potentially be completely over

Conversely, privacy also plays an increasingly large role in K-Mag's deliberations. As the father of two little girls, he has experienced a change that has given him a new priority in life.

– I am no longer just a racing choir – I am also human. And where, in my opinion, you peak as a human being, is when you have children.

– And I'm peaking right now – and will continue to peak. No matter how old the children are, you are still their father, he says to DR Sporten.

Magnussen emphasizes that he still has a passion for motorsport, but he also recognizes that it is time to reflect on what comes next.

With his career in Formula 1 soon behind him, the time seems to have come for the Danish choirboy to consider what will be the next chapter in his life.
