He is expected to take over the seat that Kevin Magnussen has just lost at Haas. But now Esteban Ocon confirms that he has had a seat fitted at Williams.
Esteban Ocon is the man most people currently count on as Kevin Magnussen's replacement at Haas.
But now the Frenchman confirms that he has visited Williams. And not just in the paddock. The 27-year-old Frenchman, who himself has been kicked out of the Alpine garage, has visited Williams' factory in the town of Grove, England.
And now Ocon himself confirms the story. However, it mainly has something to do with the Frenchman's height. The 27-year-old Frenchman, with his 1.86 meters, is among the tallest in the entire Formula 1 field.
– It is true that I did a test at Williams a few weeks ago, to see how I felt in the car, especially since my size is unusual, he says to the French news agency, AFP.

According to AFP, Alpine strongly denies that they will let Ocon go this season. There have been rumors about that. However, Ocon himself is reasonably sure that he will also be found in the Formula 1 field in the coming seasons.
My goal is to stay in Formula 1 and I am confident. In the meantime, I want to finish the season with Alpine in the best possible way.
Officially, Ocon and Alpine have agreed to end the collaboration after this season. A more credible explanation, however, is that the Alpine bosses have grown tired of the Frenchman's extremely poor behaviour.
In any case, the news of Ocon's departure from Alpine came immediately after he was to blame for a clash with compatriot and team-mate Pierre Gasly during the Monaco Grand Prix back in May.
However, Esteban Ocon does not leave the Alpine garage completely empty-handed. The Frenchman has a contractual claim on all the cars in which he wins a Grand Prix for the team.
It has only happened once. But earlier in July the team had to cough up the 2021 racer in which Ocon won the Hungarian Grand Prix.
