Jaguar's next electric car will cost at least DKK 1 million

The price of Jaguar's next electric car will be at least one million kroner when it lands at dealers in 2026. The boss will not sell cars cheaper than that.

Jaguar is preparing for an extensive chapter where the car brand will only build electric cars. The next electric car will arrive in 2026 and the price will be at least one million Danish kroner.

The conversion means that Jaguar's sales in Denmark have already come to a standstill. It is the same in a number of other markets. Blue. at home in England (the brand has been Indian-owned since 2008, ed.)

Jaguar's all-electric venture also means that most models have already gone out of production. In fact, only the F-Pace SUV is still alive. But that model's days are also numbered.

The next electric car will be a four-door GT. The car is the first in a series of electric cars with which management hopes to revive the brand.

The upcoming electric car will be built on a new platform called JEA (Jaguar Electric Architecture), which the company itself has developed for its upcoming models. Production will take place in the city of Solihull, England. However, Jaguar has not yet announced how many different models will be based on the platform.

Prototypes of the car are already being tested, where the technology is exposed to wind and weather of all kinds.

A concept edition, which should give the public a better impression of the car's design and technological direction, will be presented in Miami on December 3rd in connection with a major art festival. The design is expected to set the tone for Jaguar's expression for the next several years.

The investment in electric cars also means that Jaguar has pulled the plug on the current electric SUV, the I-Pace. It was built at the Magna Steyr factory in Austria, which is already suffering from the bankruptcy of another car brand. Read more about it here .

And that can also be the case for Jaguar. It is far from everyone who believes that Jaguar can crawl out of the ground after two years without sales. One of them is industry analyst Rene Tonder.

On LinkedIn, industry analyst Rene Tonder puts a bigger question mark on whether Jaguar has made the right choice.

– Will Jaguar suffer the same fate as Rover?, writes the analyst.
