If Jaguar survives, the brand will only build cars that cost at least one million kroner new. And here the engine is irrelevant, says director Rawdon Glover.
People who are ready and able to spend at least 1 million Danish kroner on a new car are completely indifferent to what engine the car has.
This is what Jaguar's director Rawdon Glover says in an interview with Top Gear .
Jaguar, which many believe killed itself when the brand presented both a new logo and so-called brand identity in early December, apparently doesn't care at all.
"People buy cars based on how they look. The engine comes in 13th place when you ask people what they prioritize," says Rawdon Glover.
Glover also believes that it is not because of the electric drivetrain that Jaguar's customers choose the brand for or against.
– They buy the car because they think it's beautiful. And because the car speaks to something in them, says the director.
The Type Zero Zero concept, which Jaguar presented in December, is no more convincing than the fact that even the Danish importer, the translated press release, also chooses to make a number of reservations.
– This document shows a snapshot of where we are today, and is therefore not a guide to specifications or availability, nor does it contain an offer to sell a specific car, part or accessory, reads the concluding remark in the material.
However, Jaguar is not the only one who thinks that the engine in a car is unimportant. Mercedes-AMG also does not believe that customers buy the cars for their engines. Instead, it is about the other technology, says the director.
