In Abu Dhabi, motorists are given speed bumps for speeds below 120 km/h

In Abu Dhabi there is not much to discuss. Here, motorists must drive at least 120 km/h on a number of motorways to avoid speed bumps.

Here at home, the Road Directorate's latest count shows that Danes drive slower than ever on the motorway. In Abu Dhabi, by law, it is the other way around.

Since May 2023, the emirate has banned driving below 120 km/h on a number of highways. If you cannot keep to that speed, the car must be kept as far to the right as possible.

This is written by Gulf Today .

In the inner lane there is a speed limit of 140 km/h. As in the outermost tracks in other. But there is no minimum speed that passenger cars must adhere to. However, for trucks and other heavy vehicles, the speed must not exceed 80 km/h.

The fine for not driving at least 120 km/h on the highways in Abu Dhabi is 400 dirhams. This corresponds to just under 740 Danish kroner.

Here at home there is no law against too slow traffic on the motorway. But as a driver, you must not disturb other traffic, and you must not be on the Danish motorways in or on a road train that cannot drive at least 50 km/h.

However, we only have to go a little further south to find the possibility of free speed. Namely on the German Autobahn. But here, too, the debate about a speed limit raged for several years.

However, successive German governments have repeatedly rejected the idea. All with reference to the fact that it will be too great an encroachment on German freedom.
