Here, the scrap premium on cars increases to DKK 17,000

Here at home, the scrap metal premium that drivers can get is relatively modest. It is different 'fierce' in England.

In England, the capital London has even more against motorists than is the case in, for example, Copenhagen.

Here, it costs up to 108 kroner every day to go in and out of the so-called environmental zone, which covers most of the city and the surrounding area.

On the other hand, the British are now increasing the scrap premium when it comes to cars that are not allowed to be in the 'ULEZ zone'.

That's what Autocar writes.

In total, the city's Social Democrat mayor, Sadiq Khan, has committed a further £50m to the scrap premium overall.

This means that the British can get up to 2,000 pounds, equivalent to 17,430 kroner, for scrapping their 'not environmentally friendly' car.

In comparison, in Denmark you are only entitled to 2,200 scrap premiums. However, it has been seen several times that the scrap premium is set up in pools at a time. Read more about it here .

– Cleaning the toxic air is not something that can wait.

– As we strive to build a greener and healthier London for everyone, I am determined that all citizens and businesses must contribute.

– Our fraudulent scrap premium will help many more people in London, Sadiq Khan said in a statement according to the newspaper.

However, not everyone thinks the London government's pursuit of motorists is equally admirable. Among other things, Britain's conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak calls the rules in London 'anti-motoring'.

On his "X" profile, the Prime Minister emphasizes that the car remains important to many British families. That is why he also intends to crack down on several anti-driving laws across the country.

Sunak also relaxed another ban last year. Now the British can drive around in new diesel and petrol cars for a little longer. Read more about it here .
