An eBay user wants a whopping 280,000 kroner for this 27-year-old Nissan logo. If it is genuine, if there are only 43 other copies.
A 27-year-old Nissan logo has been put up for sale on eBay for the staggering sum of 280,000 kroner.
The seller, who lives in Yokohama, Japan, lists the "Buy It Now" price at US$40,040.
A quick search on Yahoo Auctions apparently reveals the same logo for sale for 4,004,004 Japanese yen, which corresponds to approximately 190,000 kroner.
It is reasonable to believe that the seller does not expect to get DKK 280,000 for the logo.
The unrealistically high price may be an attempt to discourage ordinary 'collectors' and instead attract serious buyers or owners of one of the few existing Nissan Skyline Nismo 400R.

The seller may be afraid of being inundated with inquiries from people who are not willing to pay a high price.
In the description of the logo, the seller explains where it comes from:
– When I bought a new car in 1996, I had the dealer remove the emblem from the car together with the lettering on the side.
– This is the emblem that sits on the tailgate of a Nismo 400R. It has been wrapped in a handkerchief and stored in a safe place.
But it may have been against other things and there is a light scratch in the middle. The 400 part also has what looks like scratches or blemishes inside or on the surface, perhaps due to aging.
The Nissan Skyline Nismo 400R is an exclusive and rare edition of the Japanese sports car. The car is equipped with a number of custom-made racing parts from Nissan's performance department and was produced in only 44 examples. The well-informed, fan-created GTR Registry has information on 41 of the cars.
