Had to take mother home – the police took the 18-year-old's BMW in the city zone

On Thursday evening, an 18-year-old man from Ringkobing had to call his mother. The police had seized his BMW and choir card.

An 18-year-old man from Ringkobing cut short his last trip on public roads for the time being on Thursday evening. The young driver was caught in a speed check.

In a 50-zone, he chose to send the BMW up to a whopping 117 km/h. Something that, according to the law, is the same as madness.

This is what Martin Bjerg, who is a police assistant at the local police in Ringkobing, tells TV Midtvest . However, the police assistant has a suggestion as to how the 18-year-old got on without either a BMW or a choir card.

– He had to take his mother home, I think, said the police assistant.

If it goes as it usually does in cases of insane driving, the very young driver now faces a larger fine, at least three years without a driver's license and perhaps an unconditional prison sentence.

The police will now go to get a judge to confiscate the BMW on behalf of the state. If that happens, it will be sold at one of the police's popular auctions.

Auctions that are wildly popular. Last weekend, a 22-year-old crazy driver attended one of these auctions in Odense. And it's a rather special reason that ended up costing him his entire savings. Read more about it here .
