The navigation app Google Maps has long been able to be customized in several ways. Now iPhone users will apparently be able to own cars directly in the app.
Google Maps now gives users the opportunity to customize the app itself, so that the map more closely reflects the real world and the users' own cars.
Right now, motorists can replace the regular blue arrow with icons of different choir uniforms. However, the selection is severely limited to a small root car, a yellow SUV or a green pickup.
But more is on the way. Much more. For Google, it is testing a function that makes it possible to choose a car that resembles the individual user's own car. The car will even appear as a small icon on the screen.
That's what Androidpolice writes.
According to the media, some selected users of Google Maps on Apple's operating system for the iPhone, iOS, have gained access to a new function where they can choose between several koretoj icons.

The new feature can be customized in several ways to make the virtual car look more realistic. Users can choose from five new types of cars, including a sedan, an SUV, a four-wheel drive, a hatchback, and a wagon that most closely resembles the previous one.
Unlike the previous, simpler car icons, the new icons are more detailed and supposedly resemble real cars.
More cars in more colors
In addition, the new menu allows you to choose the color of the cars. Here, users can choose from eight colours: white, black, grey, red, blue, yellow, green and purple.
However, the traditional blue arrow and old car icons will still be available. But it is not possible to change either the color or shape of them.
So far, this function has only been seen available in tests on the iPhone 16 Pro, where Google lets a limited number of users test the function.
However, Androidpolice expects Android users to have the same options when Google is ready with an update to the navigation app for both operating systems. It is not yet known when this update will be available to all users.
It is not the first time that Google Maps gets an overhaul with functions that many have requested. In fact, Boosted could talk about a similar update just a few months ago. Read more about it here .
