German police seize 4 Bugattis from known collection

On Friday morning, treat yourself to something out of the ordinary if you were near "Motorworld" in the northern part of Munich.

Here, uniformed and plainclothes officers stormed in to seize 4 Bugattis, which law enforcement believes is related to a corruption case as far away as Malaysia.

This is written by the German newspaper Bild .

According to the newspaper, the police were still at the address at 12:20 p.m., when four Bugatti Veyron models were pulled out of Motorworld's parking lot. It concerns one car in blue, two black and a fourth two-tone (black and brown).

The police in Munich will not say much about the case, as Friday's action was part of a 'pending criminal case'.

Bild learns, however, that the cars have a connection in one way or another to the Malaysian wealth fund 1MDB, which is involved in a larger corruption case, in which the country's former prime minister Najib Razak is also involved.

In 2020, he was sentenced to twelve years in prison for embezzlement by defrauding the fund of 600 million dollars.

An amount in a similar size, two more men with relations to Switzerland and Saudi Arabia are now indicted for having snatched from the same fund. The case is pending before a federal court in the city of Bern.

Here at home, too, the police have several times come after several cars at once. Among other things in March last year.

In an action, the police raided several places in the country. And that against motorists who are believed to have been guilty of reckless driving and shared the whole thing on YouTube. Read more about that case here .

A more recent example comes from a large car meeting in Randers. Here East Jutland Police took two motorcycles and 18 cars, which are suspected of being illegally constructively modified, with them from there.

– Unfortunately, we are not surprised that yesterday we were able to write as many cases as we did, and that so many choir uniforms were seized.

– We have nothing against people gathering about their interest in cars, but it must of course take place within the framework of the law, said the following from the police circle.
