They have changed their name more than any other Formula 1 team in Formula 1 in recent years. And now Red Bull's junior team will be called something else again.
The Formula 1 team Visa Cash App RB, which acts as an incubator for Red Bull, is changing its name once again. It takes place before the 2025 season.
After 14 years as Toro Rosso, the team was renamed AlphaTauri in 2020 to promote the clothing brand of the same name. Ahead of the 2024 season, the team changed its name again – now to the very slightly catchy Visa Cash App RB. Abbreviated VCARB.
In 2025, however, the team will return to its roots. Formula 1 media Racing365News writes that the team from next season will be called Racing Bulls.
The new name is not only easier to pronounce. According to the media, it also gives the team, based in Faenza, Italy, a clearer identity. And there is something about that. In 2023, the company behind the Formula 1 team changed its name to Racing Bulls SpA
The team's fans have also criticized the current team name since the beginning of the season. Not only is it difficult to find a suitable abbreviation. Several fans also believe that it does not suit the team at all.

And now the management has apparently listened to the criticism. The agreements with Visa and Cash App will be knitted together prior to the coming season in such a way that the companies have a less prominent place on both cars. So Red Bull's own logo can get bigger. What this means for the economics of the agreements is unknown.
The choirs for the 2025 season are something else entirely. Right now, on paper, Liam Lawson and the Japanese Yuki Tsunoda are in the cars. But since there has been a lot of fuss about Serigo Perez's future at Red Bull through 2024, both VCARB choirs as candidates for that seat.
A third chorister is Kevin Magnussen. On paper, the Dane is completely out of Formula 1. Especially after it was announced this week that the young Gabriel Bortoleto has been given the last available seat in 2025. Namely the one at Sauber.
Sauber – which in both 2024 and 2025 sings as Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber – is, however, facing an uncertain future. The latest news is that Audi is considering selling the entire team. Read more about it here .
