The former Formula 1 driver Nyck de Vries has received the court's word that he must hand over half of his Alpha Tauri-lon and quite a lot more.
A Dutch investment fund has received the court's word that the former Formula 1 driver, Nyck de Vries, owes the fund a fortune.
The verdict means that de Vries must pay 250,000 euros, equivalent to 1.8 million kroner, back to the fund. In addition, the foundation must have half of the loan that de Vries received from Alpha Tauri.
The amount includes bonuses and sponsorship money. An amount that must now be paid back because Nyck de Vries did not fulfill his part of the contract with the investment fund.

The contract between the parties was concluded in 2018, when Nyck de Vries competed in Formula 2. It was the agreement that the foundation should receive 50 percent of the racing driver's salary if he reached Formula 1.
He did. But apparently not long enough. And therefore the entire loan plus half of the salary must be repaid. However, Nyck de Vries is not completely without the possibility of paying the large amount.
After his dismissal from Alpha Tauri, he was brought back to Formula E, which he won in the 2021 season. However, how much he will receive in salary is unknown.
