After 'surviving' 3 other rounds of layoffs, a now former employee describes how he is relieved to receive a notice of dismissal from Rivian.
Rivian is a car brand in crisis. The American electric car brand loses an insane $234,000 every time they build just one car.
The hope is that a cheaper car, which also comes to Europe, can ensure the brand's survival. But this does not mean that Rivian is a nice place to be.
This is what a former employee tells the financial media Business Insider .
The employee describes, among other things, how things went downhill after Rivian's IPO. But it was only in 2022 that it dawned on the now-fired employee that Rivian was not 'made of money'.

– Over the course of the last year, I thought about whether I could allow myself to make big decisions. Can I buy a house knowing that there are evictions every 12 months?
– It was actually almost a relief when I was finally fired, writes the former employee to the media.
However, the former employee does not blame the management at Rivian for the downturn. Instead, it is due to 'things from outside'.
– I have shares in Rivian, and many of them because I worked there for so long. Of course, I hope they succeed. But it is difficult to look forward to the future.
