Ford will never build an electric Mustang, director promises

Apart from the electric car Mustang Mach-E, Ford will never build an electric Mustang as a muscle car, emphasizes the brand's director Jim Farley.

He has already vowed that Ford will always build a Mustang with a V8 engine. "Whether we're going to be the last to do this sort of thing," it went.

And now the brand's managing director, Jim Farley, says that Ford will never build an electric muscle car with the name 'Mustang'.

That's what Autocar writes.

However, this is not the same as the Mustang remaining what it has always been. Namely a car with two doors. In an interview with the media, Farley notes that he is interested in a Mustang with more space. So a model with four dores.

– We will never build a Mustang that is not a Mustang. For example, there will never be room for a small SUV with two rows of seats and a Mustang logo on it.

– But could we investigate other Mustang body shapes, such as a four-door version or similar? I think we can. As long as these models have all the performance and attitude of the original, says Farley.

Here, the Ford director may be talking about a direct competitor to the new Dodge Charger, which will have both coupé and sedan forms.

Like the others, it is delivered as both an electric car and with a combustion engine. Even though the Stellantis brand has already put the really big V8 models in the grave. Read more about it here .

Other competitors, the Ford director is not so sure that he wants to bite spoons with. For example, he is not much for giving a bid on whether Ford intends to bid on the VAG group's off-road versions of the Porsche 911 and Lamborghini Huracan.

– I'm not so sure about that, let it from the boss.

But if we're going to turn it around with a four-door Mustang again, Ford has actually done more than just think the idea already. They even drew it. Read more about it here .
