Ford sues company because new car looks old

Ford has sued the company Vintage Modern because the latter has made a new Bronco look like the first model from 1961.

Ford probably has such difficulty selling the new Bronco that the employees are moved to other assembly lines. But that doesn't mean that brand will be found in anything.

That is why the company Vintage Modern has been sued. Specifically, Ford, which is also threatening to take a very well-known YouTuber to court, is upset that the new Bronco may actually look like the old one.

Ford believes that Vintage Modern has done their job so well that it infringes the car brand's rights to the design.

This is written by The Drive .

The case now ended as a request for a court case with a panel and all. So from Ford's side. Conversely, Vintage Modern defends that it has nothing to do with Ford.

It is even very clear that the company's website. Vintage Modern says you 'just' rebuild new cars to make them look older. Therefore, the cars also have equipment such as ABS brakes, Apple CarPlay. air conditioning and disc brakes. You didn't find that on many new Bronco models in 1961.

On the other hand, there is hardly any doubt about where the company gets its inspiration from. Right down to the logo on the front of the converted cars, it looks like something Ford has used for.

It is not the first time that neither Ford nor any other car brand has gone to court to silence smaller businesses with accusations of imitations.

In 2023 alone, Ferrari managed to get the authorities in various countries to seize and destroy 400,000 fakes. Here among several cars. Read more about it here .
