Ford Mustang loses 52 horsepower due to EU regulations

The new Mustang sticks to the V8 engine. In fact, it only comes to Denmark with a V8 engine. However, due to EU regulations, new Mustang customers are being cheated.

New Ford Mustang customers are being cheated – at least in Europe. Stricter emission requirements mean that Ford has had to throttle down the model.

Specifically, the large, five-liter V8 engine lacks 40 horsepower compared to the GT model's muscles in other markets, such as North America.

But it is not the only salt that the stricter EU rules rub in the wound. The Mustang GT models coming to Europe will also lack 28 newton meters.

And it gets even worse. The provisional top model, the Mustang Dark Horse, lacks as much as 52 horsepower and 28 newton meters compared to the model in the USA.

Denmark is generally one of the worst markets for launching the new Mustang. Motorists in the country not only have to make do with less horsepower, but the absurdly high registration fee also means that a new Mustang costs almost DKK 1 million – even for the most scratched model.

However, Ford's chief executive promises to put a small band-aid on the wound, especially for those drivers who swear by the big V8 engine. Read more about it here .
