It was almost 70 years in Danish hands for the Danish-owned family company Elkjærgruppen. After 3 generations, they have sold to Sweden.
Cary Group has acquired 80 percent of Elkjærgruppen, a car damage chain with 6 paintwork and damage centers in Zealand, Denmark.
The Elkjær group was founded in 1955 as Elkjærs Autolakering and has been a family-owned business for 3 generations.
The partners state this in a press release.
– We are very happy to welcome the Elkjær group. With the acquisition, we have a strong national coverage in Denmark within car damage repair, and it will be a very good supplement to our existing business in Jutland, says Cary Group director Anders Jensen.

However, the Elkjær name does not completely disappear from the operation, as the family remains part of the management group. The company, which has now come into Swedish hands, has 6 paint and damage centers in Greater Copenhagen and North Zealand and approximately 80 employees, who are primarily bodywork technicians and car refinishers.
The Autolakerer company is not the only Danish company related to the automotive industry that has changed hands in recent years.
Lithium Balance, which produces control technology for lithium batteries in Smorum north of Copenhagen, got American owners in 2021. The Funen company Budweg Caliper, which manufactures brake calipers, also got American owners in 2022.
