Every fifth charging station does not work, new research shows

Every fifth time a driver in an electric or hybrid car needs to use electricity, this is due to a faulty charging station, new international research shows.

It may well be that there is speed in setting up charging stations. But something suggests that it is going too fast.

Every fifth charging stand does not work. This is the conclusion of a new international survey that looked at charging stations in Europe, Asia and North America.

This is the conclusion of a new study from Harvard Business School.

Omar Asensio, who has been at the head of the investigation, makes it clear that charging stations are, on average, much less reliable than ordinary filling stations.

In addition, the people behind the survey find that ambiguity when it comes to the cost of charging is another big problem. Even though information on the price must actually be on the charging stand.

In several cases, the price tag is either worn down or not present at all on the individual charging stand. In addition, maintenance of the charging stations is a problem in several countries. It is simply not done well enough.

Around the world there is a definite shortage of charging stations. The survey describes areas as 'storage yards'. Places where it is impossible to find a charging station.

This, the survey says, is particularly a problem in the United States. Something that is not mentioned in the survey is fraud. And this kind of thing has also just appeared here at home. Read more about it here .
