Engine from Denmark is the world's most powerful in a street car

The Mjolner engine that will go into the new Zenvo Aurora is the most potent 12-cylinder engine ever put into a street car.

Mjolner is the world's most powerful V12 engine for street use. It produces a whopping 1,267 horsepower. The engine was developed in collaboration between Danish Zenvo and British Mahle Powertrain. The new engine will be used in the Zenvo Aurora hypercar.

The Zenvo Aurora, if Zenvo can sell it, will be a significant contender in the hypercar market. It will compete with cars like the Koenigsegg Jesko. And here the V12 engine is perhaps the most important argument not to choose the Swedish alternative.

The Mjölner engine is not alone in the Zenvo Aurora, however. The car will have a hybrid system. An electric motor contributes an additional 600 horsepower.

The total system output in the Aurora is 1,850 horsepower. This places the car at the top of the hierarchy for street-legal cars. In fact, the car, developed in Præsto, is wilder than even the Koenigsegg Jesko.

The Mjölner V12 engine itself has a displacement of 6.6 liters. It is equipped with four turbochargers and is willing to take 9,900 revolutions per minute.

Mjolner: V12 Technology and 'environmentally friendly'

Mahle Powertrain has contributed advanced technology. They use their Jet Ignition system. It is a combustion technology inspired by Formula 1.

A technology that was crucial to the engine's development. It ensures that the Mjolner V12 can comply with strict emission regulations. This applies to both the USA and Europe.

The engine meets the upcoming Euro 7 standard. This shows a focus on future-proofing. Zenvo emphasizes that the engine is a completely new design.

It is not based on any existing engine block. It is a unique design from the ground up.

Zenvo promises a very special experience with the Mjolner engine. It will have a unique engine sound. The sound is described as unlike any other engine on the planet.

Sound, pride and the future of Zenvo

"It is designed to stimulate the senses," says Zenvo's chairman Jens Sverdrup. He expresses great pride in the project.

– It's not every day that a new V12 engine is born. "So it's a very big and exciting moment to finally show Mjolner

The title of the world's most powerful V12 was not a primary goal. The Zenvo achieved its high performance as a result of the design process. The focus was on meeting emissions requirements.

Until now, the Aston Martin Valkyrie has had the most powerful V12 engine in a road car. Its 6.5-liter engine produces 1,000 horsepower. The Mjolner V12 significantly surpasses it.

The new Mjolner V12 and Zenvo Aurora mark a new chapter for Danish car production. Read more about Zenvo's previous models such as the TSR-S and other Danish car projects at Boosted.dk.
