Arsonists in Las Vegas set fire to and shot at cars. Now the brand's CEO, Elon Musk, calls the actions insane.
Attacks against Tesla and Tesla owners are increasing in the United States. Most recently, a Tesla facility just a few kilometers from The Strip in Las Vegas was attacked.
On Tuesday night this week, someone attacked the Tesla facility by firing a gun and setting fire to several cars. Police suspect that one or more perpetrators used Molotov cocktails against the cars.
At least five cars were damaged, two of which burned out completely.
– This was a targeted attack on a Tesla facility. We believe it is isolated at this time.
"We do not believe there is any further threat to the public," said Assistant Police Chief Dori Koren of the Las Vegas Police Department, according to NBC News .
Tesla CEO Elon Musk himself initially condemned the attack on his business in Las Vegas. He did so several times on his own social media X.
He has since been interviewed by Fox News, where the billionaire spent his time accusing the left and forces in the Democratic Party of being behind the attacks.
– It really came as a shock to me that there is this level of hatred and violence from the left wing.
"I always thought the left and the Democrats would be the party of empathy and caring," Elon Musk told Fox News.
Neither the police nor Elon Musk have been able to prove who is behind the many attacks against Tesla. On the other hand, a few have been arrested.
– They burn cars at dealerships. They shoot bullets at cars, they smash Teslas. Tesla is a peaceful company; we have never done anything harmful.
"I've never done anything harmful, we've only done productive things," says Elon Musk.
The Tesla director even speculates that there must be something bigger behind the many attacks against the car brand.
"I think there are bigger forces behind it. Who's funding it, who's coordinating it. Because this is crazy, I've never seen anything like it," he tells Fox News.
