The Danish car importers, who today call themselves Mobility Denmark, are calling for more support as it is clear that sales of electric cars declined in November.
Electric cars experienced a decline in sales in November 2023, and Danish car importers are now calling for support to reverse the trend. Sales of electric cars in Denmark fell in November.
A trend that is also seen at a European level. In the EU, 130,757 electric cars were registered in November, a decrease of 9.5 percent compared to the same month last year.
In Denmark, car sales followed the general trend with 14,939 cars registered in November, a decrease of 8.6 percent compared to November 2023. However, total car sales in the EU for the first 11 months of the year are still slightly higher than the same period last year.
Mads Rorvig, CEO of Mobility Denmark, points out that electric car sales in the EU are under pressure and that there is a need to make electric cars more attractive to consumers.
He calls for targeted efforts with clear frameworks and incentives across the EU to maintain the green transition.
– Electric car sales in the EU remain under pressure, underlining the need to strengthen efforts to make electric cars more attractive to consumers.
– If we are to maintain momentum in the green transition, it requires targeted efforts with clear frameworks and incentives across the entire EU, says the director in a press release .
The decline in electric car sales can be attributed to several factors. Including rising electricity prices and uncertainty about charging infrastructure. To reverse the trend, policy action is needed to address these challenges and make electric cars a more attractive choice for consumers.
