It's not just in Denmark that the police are cracking down on Wunderbaums. Their colleagues in Norway recently took action with a driving ban.
– Such a pile of Wunderbaums takes away the driver's view.
At least if you ask the Norwegian (and Danish, ed.) authorities. Recently, Norwegian police also intervened when a driver with a penchant for air fresheners was stopped during a traffic stop.
This is what Norwegian Motor writes.
According to supervisor Synnove Stolen, whom the media has spoken to, it is actually not okay to have just one Wunderbaum hanging from the rearview mirror.
– But if drivers have one hanging, they won't get a driving ban.
In Norway, a driving ban is lifted as soon as one (read: several Wunderbaums, ed.) is removed from the rearview mirror.
The driver who was banned from driving actually borrowed a pair of scissors to cut off the air fresheners himself. But as Synnove Stolen also tells us, some drivers get so angry about the ban that they tear off the entire rearview mirror.
During the same inspection, it was also revealed that 28 out of 65 drivers did not know how to clear a car of snow. In any case, the cars were covered with far too much snow. This kind of thing also causes big fines in Denmark. In the worst case, your driving license will be suspended. Read more about it here .
Unfortunately, this is far from the first time that the police have brought an example of this kind of driving to light. In fact, it turns out that half of Danes completely forget that forgetting to scrape their car free of ice and snow can cost them their driving license.
Something else that is also not legal is stealing electricity. Not even if it is for an electric car. A 50-year-old man had to admit this when he plugged his electric car into a socket in a housing association.
He now has to pay 30 daily fines, which amount to 6,300 kroner. Read it and more exciting stories on Boosted.dk every day all year round – completely free.
