Denmark's most popular car seized at 105 km/h

Last week, a 60-year-old man wanted to reach his badminton appointment. It ended up costing him both the choir card and a Tesla Model Y.

How hard is it really worth pushing to reach an agreement?

A 60-year-old man probably ponders that thoroughly these days. Because last week the Central and West Zealand Police took his Tesla Model Y.

He used the car for a crazy ride when he was caught doing at least 105 km/h on Roskildevej in Benlose near Ringsted.

Because the police always have to subtract a certain amount of uncertainty in the measurement, the 60-year-old man ended up being charged with having a 101 km/h card. 1 km/h above the limit of crazy traffic. And then it was otherwise expensive.

The driver did not make it to his appointment. Instead, he was shocked to see his car get short on a sweeper and hand in his choir card, explains the police circle in a post about the case on Facebook .

The man was also told that such cases typically end with 20 days in prison. In addition, the state takes the car and sells it on at auction.

However, the 20 days in prison can hardly do it. If the man is convicted, he will face a heavy prison sentence and a very long period without a choir card.

If he wants a Tesla Model Y again, there is even more bad news. The American car brand has just raised the price of the car by several thousand kroner. Read more about it here .

It is far from the first time that the police have seized a Tesla Model Y. The same happened last year after a car chase during the Christmas period.

In the end, however, there was not much more than a wreckage left of the seized. Read more about that case here .

Back at the 60-year-old man's house on Roskildevej, there was an immediate protest over the seizure. A judge must therefore first look at whether it was even okay for the police to take the car.
