DEBATE: Daniel wants to ban large cars – "Must not be bigger than a Peugeot 208"

The small Peugeot 208 is one of the absolute smallest cars in Europe. Daniel Moser wants a ban on excessive weight and size on cars.

Measured by the number of new registrations, the Peugeot 208 is one of the most popular cars in Europe. So far, Daniel Moser is right. Indeed, he has that too when it comes to Americans' fondness for Ford's F-series of pickups. And Daniel Moser believes that there is only ONE natural outcome of this. He wants to limit both the weight and the size of cars. Apparently they are no bigger than the current Peugeot 208. Under the slogan "It's time to restrict max size & weight of cars", Daniel Moser has used his Twitter profile to advocate for exactly that point of view since December 2021.

The comparison tweet, which goes on the small Peugeot and the big Ford, is from May this year. And thus not Daniel Moser's first tweet with that attitude. Still, that specific tweet has been viewed 1 million times already. Just as it has received hundreds of comments along the way. Some agree with Daniel Moser's interpretation. While others point out what they believe are obvious fallacies. – First of all, are you comparing two very different cars? A small passenger car and a van, comes a reply. – The idea is stupid. So where should the line be drawn? Does the Tesla Model 3, for example?, asks another. READ ALSO: A hard-drinking Copenhagener hit a fence far from home – then the car caught fire – Size is just as much about safety, another Twitter user points out in another of Daniel Moser's tweets, in which he points out how a car like the Volkswagen Golf have only grown larger over time. Daniel Moser defends himself by saying that fire taxation of large cars is needed. That both when it comes to weight and size. – In France, large cars are already more expensive, writes Daniel Moser. However, it has also received criticism from several of those who have been on Daniel Moser's tweet since May. – Pickups are necessary. There are still people with physically demanding jobs (who need bigger cars, ed.) sounds another counter-answer. – I own a Dodge Ram that I use to pull my trailer. I don't use the car every day. But when I need it, I really need it, continues one of the many comments.
