Danish motorists are getting petrol stolen in a completely new way

The police do not think they have seen anything like this before. At least not because a particular petrol theft was reported by a number of motorists.

On Wednesday this week, the local police in Thisted received a number of reports about stolen petrol. It was the car owners themselves who discovered the theft.

This is written by TV Midtvest .

However, the police do not remember having seen petrol stolen in the way that now appears to be the case.

It is from two cars in Nykobing that the petrol was cut. The thieves have gained access to the expensive drops by drilling three holes around the tank cover. That way, the tank is empty of petrol.

Although the police have not confirmed the method, the station still has a presumption that it may be the same perpetrator(s). The procedure is the same in both cases.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that thieves run around emptying Danish cars for fuel. In the past, this has happened by the thieves getting under the cars and drilling one or more holes in the tank.

In the Southern and Sonderjylland Police District, for example, it happened a number of times in the course of 2022, when fuel was even more expensive than it is today. Read more about it here .
