The former director and founder of Autoconsult Preben Egelund is a fraudster. He has the word of the court for that. Now he is going to prison.
Founder and former technical director of AutoConsult, Preben Egelund, has been convicted of fraud.
This is what Motormagazine writes.
The court has found it proven that the founder of the company, which makes a living by testing modified cars so that they can be approved by the authorities, attempted to transfer a customer's receivables to himself.
The case was settled with a 40-day suspended sentence. This means that Preben Egelund will have to go to prison if he commits a crime again.
The Glostrup District Court has ruled that. The case was brought by the prosecution. It is not the first time this year that someone in the Danish automotive industry has been convicted of a criminal offense.
Back in September, a 46-year-old inspector, who lives in the Copenhagen suburb of Vesten, was convicted for his role in a larger case complex involving cloned cars.
The court found it proven that the man had accepted bribes to inspect and approve at least seven cloned cars. The verdict also meant that the 46-year-old lost his right to act as an inspector.
However, he escaped with a warning about deportation, even though senior prosecutor Laura Jensen from the National Unit for Special Crimes said at the time that the case was one of the most extensive fraud cases ever.
