Danes forget 11-year-old law – costs DKK 8,500 in stalls

The conversation is worth having. Especially if a family member is about to turn 70 and is still behind the wheel. An invalid choir card is extremely expensive to be stopped with.

The typical Boosted reader is between 18 and 54 years old. There should therefore be no problems with the validity of the Korekort. But if you have older family members, the validity of choir cards is still worth paying attention to. Choir cards issued before 19 January 2013 are normally only valid until the owner turns 70. And it can be a really expensive deal to overlook. Driving around with an invalid choir card is like having no choir card at all. It costs DKK 7,000 the first time and DKK 8,500 the second time. For the motorist who may have overlooked the validity date on the registration card, this can have serious consequences in insurance matters in the event of a traffic accident. Fortunately, renewing the choir card is relatively easy. It simply requires an inquiry to citizen services. Remember to bring a valid ID with you. People who got a choir card after 19 January 2013 must also be aware that their choir card for passenger cars is only valid for 15 years at a time. Coring cards for bus and truck categories C and D are valid for an even shorter period. Namely for just five years at a time.
