The Jutland energy group Aura has also tried a car-sharing service since January. But it is such a bad business that they are now closing down again.
The Jutland energy group Aura is closing the car-sharing service that the company has had a card with since January 2018.
It is the customers of the energy company that they wanted to offer the shared cars to. But here there has been no interest, at least not enough to create a sustainable business.
Therefore, the company is now taking the consequence and turning some around. This appears from a press release from Aura. This will happen in line with the expiry of the leasing periods in the first half of 2024.
– We know that the users have been happy about the opportunity. But we can also note that the market for electric car sharing is different now than it was when we started.

– It has become much more difficult for us to find suitable locations for our cars. And citizens' use of our cars has been slightly decreasing over the last few years. Therefore, it is timely care for us to phase out the scheme now, says Klaus Hieronymus Stenger, business manager at AURA.
When the car-sharing service covered the first kilometers in January 2018, there were 32 cars on the roads. But that number has been cut down over the years to just 19 pieces. And soon there will be 0.
Specifically, the last of Aura's shared cars will disappear from the roads on 30 June 2024. Until then, the cars will continue to be used by registered customers.
However, Aura's car-sharing service is not the only Danish enterprise that is soon to be a thing of the past. Another Danish car-sharing scheme disappeared last year, and another one will soon close. Read more about it here.
Aura states in the press release that the 19 shared cars have a total of 1,377,000 kilometers on the roads in East Jutland.
