Closed in the entire country – now Volkswagen is back

After a bankruptcy that meant that Volkswagen withdrew from Bornholm in March, the car brand is now back in the region.

Bornholm has lost a sea of car brands in the last 15 years. But now Volkswagen is making a comeback after the car brand otherwise disappeared when the dealer Autohuset Bornholm went bankrupt back in March.

That's what Motor magazine writes.

The bankruptcy at Autohuset Bornholm has created a change for the sale and service of Volkswagen on Bornholm.

Volkswagen Denmark has entered into a new agreement with Bilhuset Elmer A/S in Ronne, which will in future be responsible for the brand's sales and service in the oen. This is confirmed by Pernille Trebbien, managing director at Bilhuset Elmer.

In connection with the takeover, Bilhuset Elmer is in the process of holding interviews with the former employees of Autohuset Bornholm, who otherwise lost their jobs in connection with the bankruptcy.

Since Autohuset Bornholm's former premises have already been sold to a toy store, the sales and service of Volkswagen will now be run from Bilhuset Elmer's own address in Ronne.

Bilhuset Elmer A/S already deals and services Ford, Kia, Suzuki and Mazda brands. on Bornholm.

In addition, the workshop acts as an authorized workshop for Citroen, Opel and Peugeot, which are brands under KW Bruun. However, Bilhuset Elmer terminated their dealer agreements with KW Bruun at the end of 2023.

With the agreement, a car brand returns to Bornholm. A part of the country which in the past 15 years has otherwise become almost empty of car brands. According to TV2 Bornholm, as many as 14 car brands have withdrawn from the oen in that time. Read more about it here .
