Cheers broke out when the famous Lamborghini passed the wild limit

The previous owner's name is on the mandrel. But that wasn't what got the Barrett-Jackson auction crowd cheering.

Former US President Donald Trump's former Lamborghini Diablo has just been sold at auction in the US.

However, it was neither the previous ownership nor the fact that the ex-president's name is on the car's front door that caused the crowd to cheer.

According to Road & Track, the car was sold for a solid 1.1 million dollars, corresponding to 7.58 million Danish kroner.

But it was when the price rose above 1 million dollars, corresponding to 6.89 million Danish kroner – that an almost euphoric mood arose among the audience.

In any case, there was an almost spontaneous cheer in the room when the Le Mans-blue Diablo VT Roadster rowed over the 'magical' limit.

According to the auction house, Donald Trump secured the car in 1997. It must have been as one of the first customers, because the VT model was specifically manufactured for the American market between 1997 and 1999.

It turned out to be just 132 copies. How many still exist today is not known. But it is certain that the car had just under 15,000 miles, equivalent to 24,140 kilometers, when Donald Trump parted with it again in 2002.

Today, the 5.7-liter V12 engine, which produces almost 500 horsepower, has a short 24,843 kilometers. So not very much after the first owner.
