Celebrity defrauded with cars – charged 17 times

He leased cars to several well-known Danes. Now the former owner and director of Scanleasing has been charged with 17 criminal offenses.

The former director of Scanleasing, Peter Larsen, has been charged with 17 criminal offences related to fraud. This is stated in an indictment that Ekstra Bladet has been given access to. Two other people have also been charged in the case. However, according to the newspaper, they are protected by a name ban.

Conversely, the prosecution cannot rule out that further charges may be brought in the case against Peter Larsen.

Scanleasing, which had a showroom in Axel Towers in Copenhagen, appeared to be a success. Celebrities such as Nicklas Bendtner and Amalie Szigethy were photographed with the company's cars and promoted them on Instagram.

Even the Danish version of 'Top Gear', which was a flop and only had one season, used Scanleasing's showroom for a press fashion show prior to the premiere.

In 2022, Peter Larsen was charged with serious economic crime for almost 200 million kroner. However, this amount is not stated in the current indictment.

Ekstra Bladet has asked the prosecutor's office about the reason for this discrepancy.

"We can inform you that the investigation into the case is still ongoing," is the brief response from the prosecutor's office.

The case against Peter Larsen has not yet been scheduled in the legal system. That is, it is unknown when the case against the former Scanleasing director will come to court. Peter Larsen's defense attorney has not wished to comment on the case.
