The HiPhi Z electric car was praised for being close to the WLTP range. Even in cold weather. However, production has since stopped.
The Chinese car brand announced in February that it immediately stopped building cars. Since then, it has been very quiet around the brand.
But now there are still signs of life. This appears from a press release .
In a press release, HiPhi makes it clear that it has entered into a 'strategic collaboration' with American iAuto. All with the aim of getting production up and running again.
The Americans claim that they have offered HiPhi an investment of a total of 1 billion dollars, corresponding to just under 7 billion Danish kroner.

Money that must be spent on hiring people and getting the production of, among other things, the HiPhi Z and HiPhi X models are back in action. At Norske Motor, they messed around a bit more in the conditions behind the car brand.
But most of it is landlocked. And the answers the media can get, after all, refer to the press release. Samme Motor writes that the HiPhi store in the town of Strommen is probably still open. But there are only a few withered plants and a few cars to see. Some employees are impossible to get hold of.
Stephanie Yeung, co-founder of iAuto, says she expects to see production 'within 4 to 6 months'.
When the factory is up and running again, HiPhi will be able to build 45,000 cars within 12 months, it says. The situation is very similar to that in which the Chinese Nio also finds itself.
Because even though production is underway here, the money flows out of the coffers. The Danish boss is completely gone, as are a number of rank-and-file employees, and the 'activities' in the Nordics are now gathered in Sweden. Read more about it here .
