Car brand loses Danish director after 2 years: "no comment"

Neither Tesla nor outgoing Danish director Andreas Tjornehoj have any further comments on his exit after two years.

Tesla in Denmark has lost its director.

After two years in the post, Andreas Tjornehoj, who has previously been employed by Apple for 12 years, is stepping down as Tesla's chief executive at home.

Andreas Tjornehoj emphasizes to Motor-magasinet that his exit is without major drama and that it is because he is moving on to another position in another company.

At Tesla, the brand's PR manager for Denmark, Sweden and Finland, Maria Lentz, confirms that the country manager in Denmark has left his position.

But she otherwise has no comments on who, if any, is Andreas Tjornehoj's replacement. During Tjornehoj, Tesla got to experience what it is like to be Denmark's most popular car brand.

However, there are indications that the American car brand will have to drop that title already this year. Falling sales mean that Tesla has to see itself overtaken by Japanese Toyota and French Peugeot.

While a brand like Volkswagen, which was the Danes' favorite for 12 years, has to settle for third place.

We have to drop Tesla down to fourth place in the sales statistics to see something else. However, it looks somewhat better when the sales are tallied per car model. Because here, Model Y still pulls the load with just under 2,700 cars in the first four months of the year.
