A fire-damaged electric car in Umeå, Sweden, started burning again a week after the fire, emergency services say.
Last weekend, one or more perpetrators set fire to around 20 cars in the Haga neighborhood in Umeå, Sweden. At least one of them was an electric car from Hyundai. However, the car was not finished burning after the first extinguishing work.
According to Carup , the emergency services in Umeå announced that the car started to burn a week after the fire in it and the 19 other cars had actually been extinguished.
– It was an electric car, and there is supervision at the site so that it does not start a fire again. We do not yet know anything about the cause of the fire, but there is talk that it may be a battery that has caught fire, the first thing from the emergency services.
At Ume Assistance, which is responsible for the place where the burned-out electric car was towed after the fire, it is stated that there has not been time to map the cause of the new fire yet.
But the company states that there are flames in the otherwise burned out Hyundai. However, the Swedes did not foresee something like this happening a whole week later.

– It sometimes happens that cars that have been burnt catch fire again. But I have never seen it happen after such a long time. Therefore, it is far too early to say anything about the matter, says Ume Assistance's Magnus Hansson.
Fortunately, no one was injured in either the first or the second fire. And Hyundai, who was on the outside, was also quickly back under control. But unfortunately it doesn't always work that way.
