Breaking: Ford introduces 5-year warranty on electric cars in Denmark

From March 13, 2025, Ford is extending the warranty on all newly registered 100% electric passenger cars and vans in Denmark to a total of five years or 100,000 kilometers – whichever comes first.

The new warranty extension applies to Ford's entire electric model range, including the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Ford Explorer, Ford Capri and the new Ford Puma Gen-E, as well as the Ford E-Transit and E-Transit Custom vans.

Ford's standard factory warranty still covers the first two years, but the new scheme means that Ford is adding three additional years of coverage under the name Ford Protect .

This ensures customers a total warranty period of five years, covering any material and manufacturing defects.

“We want our customers to feel confident in choosing an electric vehicle from Ford. With a five-year warranty, we show our confidence in the quality of our electric models and at the same time support the transition to a more electric future,” says Frank Skjærbæk, Managing Director of Ford Denmark.

Increased focus on electric mobility at Ford

Ford has invested heavily in electrification in recent years, and with the increasing demand for electric cars, the manufacturer wants to make the transition to electric driving as seamless as possible.

According to Ford, the extended warranty is an important step in meeting customer needs.

The warranty takes effect from the first registration date and covers essential components such as the motor and battery.

Roadside assistance is also included for the first two years and can be extended by servicing at an authorized Ford repairer.

The new warranty scheme only applies to 100% electric Ford models and is part of Ford's long-term strategy to make electric mobility more attractive to both private and business customers in Denmark.
