Audi takes out a patent for cars with a built-in sauna

The car brands take patents on everything possible between heaven and earth. Now Audi wants to include the sauna experience in new cars.

Ferrari will turn a hydrogen-powered V6 engine upside down, and now Audi will equip new cars with saunas. It reveals a new patent found at the German patent office.

That's what Carmoses writes.

As such, the goal is not to equip new Audis with a sauna, but rather to improve the feeling both before and after the sauna experience itself.

The sauna function must register whether drivers in future Audi models are on their way to or from a sauna visit. Audi will keep track of this in two ways – namely through the navigation system and a connection to the sauna system itself.

The car sauna, as you like, prepares the driver for the sauna visit by using heating and lighting systems. So an extension of what we know today as 'massage seats/functions' in the most expensive cars.

Some indications are that Audi will use the function in self-driving cars. Because in the patent papers, the car brand states that the driver must have the opportunity to sleep both before and after his visit to the sauna.

Speaking of strange patents, Toyota takes it at least as seriously. Albeit in a somewhat different context. The Japanese have actually taken out a patent for a technology that should be able to detect when a passenger in a car needs to go to the toilet. Yes, it is good enough. Read more about it here .

Tesla can also participate in this kind of thing. Boosted has also told about how the brand has applied for the patent for a solution that replaces the regular windscreen wipers with laser beams. In the patent application from 2021, Tesla writes among other things about the laser, "that a beam, which is based on 'measurements', cleans a given area on a window".
